Children’s Days take place almost every Saturday from 10am to 4pm

We meet at STEPS (The Old School) in Shepshed every Saturday and we support up to 12 children per session. Weather permitting the group go out as much as possible and access services in the community. We operate from 10am – 4pm. We are able to support children from the age of 8 years old until their 18th birthday.

The children and young people are actively involved in the planning of the activities. Trips out include places like, Conkers, Twin Lakes, cinema, swimming, Bradgate Park and many more. Parents / Carers are requested to provide a packed lunch for the day and a small amount of spending money.

Primarily referrals are made through the Disabled Children’s Services Team.

Our staff are fully trained to support the needs of the children and aim to give them the best day possible. We are very responsive to parents and carers and we aim to support any ongoing plan to provide the children with a better life.

If you do not have a social worker please contact First Response on 0116 305 0005. Places can also be purchased via direct payment or paying privately.

The Holiday Play scheme takes place during every school break and provides the opportunity for children with learning disabilities to have fun, take part in a range of activities and be themselves in a safe and stimulating environment. The staff and volunteers make every effort to ensure that the experiences, from trips out in the community to multi-sensory, to outdoor challenges such as cycling, canoeing, archery and experiencing animals first hand are memorable.

All staff are highly trained, experienced and hold a current DBS. We can cater up to 12 children per session.

Our last OFSTED visit was November 2020.

Places can be accessed via direct payment or by purchasing privately.
